Anchovy, St. James – April 24, 2018: The children of Garland Hall Memorial Children’s Home in Anchovy, St. James were filled with gratitude after a visit from Starbucks and YUTE Work trainees in the Montego Bay Cohort. Thirty Jamaican high schools and tertiary institutions will benefit from a contribution of $4.2 million from the FLOW Foundation to fund their trip to the upcoming Penn Relays 2018. Thanks to The Gleaner's Youthlink, roughly 350 students from high schools across the island have been exposed to crucial techniques and skills to help them successfully manoeuvre the May/June Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) math and English exams.

The Gleaner’s Youthlink hosted the 17th staging of its annual CSEC seminar, which is primarily set to highlight challenging topics that students may face in the upcoming examination period. This year the five part chain commenced in Savanna-la-Mar, followed by Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, then Mandeville before ending at the Mico University College for the final segment in Kingston. On to round three

Week nine of this season's Schools' Challenge Quiz saw the three final matches of round two taking place. Immaculate Conception, Manchester High and Calabar High all won their contests to move on to round three of the competition.

Thursday also marked the start of round three matches with Ticthfield High and St Mary High facing off in the first match. The number one seeded team, Ticthfield High, was able to fend off their competitors and win the match with 26 points to St Mary's 18 points.

Not many teachers will ever spend 37 years in one educational institution, yet this is part of the dedication of Aston Messam, the outgoing principal of Bridgeport High School. Week eight of the Schools' Challenge Quiz competition was a very intense week of competition with a few surprises here and there. Let's start with the penultimate match of the week - match 44 between Campion College from St Andrew and Montego Bay High from St James.

Troy High’s Art Department and Art teacher

Opening its doors to 260 students in 2007 in the Southern Trelawny community of Troy, Troy High is the young institution making mature moves, existing as a complete oasis for student engagement and involvement.
