Sennheiser has been rated in the top-five headphone brands in the last few years, and with good reason. Not only are the design aesthetics for most models thought out thoroughly, but the sound quality, which is the characteristic that most persons seek in audio technology, is actually good. The Sennheiser Urbanite XL Over-Ear Headphones is one of the best in the lot, especially when compared to its competition. It has numerous consumer-friendly features, and we can safely say it is worth the money. Check out the ratings for this headphone brand and model.
The Urbanite XL was probably the most suitable name for the model, taking note of its urban feel with the denim cloth on the outer part of the headband and the moderately cushioned underside that rests on top of the listener’s head. The design is fashionable and sleek, but still rugged, and offers its own unique design sensibility that the brand should consider continuing for future models.
For the regular earpod, earbud or in-ear user, it might be a bit oversized, yet persons will like it because it is lightweight. The ear cushions are comfortable and the speaker area does not squeeze the ears, like some over-ear headphones tend to do, but still feels secure. The headphones are adjustable; however, when folded, they are still bulky. Even though the creators advertise ‘fits your life – fold up and go’, it may not be suitable for the person who is travelling light.
The Bluetooth connects surprisingly faster than other headphone brands, like the Beats Studio 3 Wireless, and it is compatible with laptops, tablets and both Android and Apple smartphones. The range is, however, satisfactory up to five feet without interferences, such as a wall or doorway.
For a noise-cancellation headphone, the Sennheiser Urbanite XL certainly passes the test. Any person who is around someone wearing these headphones should think twice before making an attempt to start a conversation. Once music is playing through the headphones, the listener will be taken over by the balance between solid bass that has good mids and highs (low and high enough to hear most instruments of a classical concerto). It comes equipped with a 1.2m long, flat universal cable with remote, as well as the 3.5mm low-profile angled jack which, when connected, the headphones are louder than when connected wirelessly via Bluetooth. The microphone is good for phone calls.

It has great battery reserve. The battery was at 75 per cent after using it continuously for three days. However, touch controls were not so easy to manoeuvre or understand at first; it appeared sensitive in some instances and at other times, did not pick up the touch.
